This Pirate HMS carabiner is very similar in appearance to other belay carabiners. But that is where it stops. The offset opening of the gate, the snug fit of the gate sleeve to the gate and the keylock nose, make this carabiner far stronger and smoother to use than others of the same style.
The snug fitting gate sleeve increases the strength of the gate and reduces the chances of the gate shaft spreading under load.

The same carabiner is also available in an Autolock and a Manual Lock gate.
