Good lightweight pulley
Only used them a couple of times so far but really easy to set up mechanical advantage for hauling gear. Quite strong for their size
Climbers around he world asked if we could build a lighter CR (Crevasse Rescue Pulley) without taking away from the exceptional breaking strength and the SMC design team took up the challenge by designing the new CRx (Crevasse Rescue Pulley). Everything thing you love about the CR without the X-tra weight! This full featured pulley has contrasting anodized side plates, stainless steel axel and lightweight Nylon Sheave to maximize efficiency and provide the best strength to weight ratio. Ideal for alpine climbers and mountaineers who want the lightest strongest pulley available.
The CRx's diminutive size and featherweight belies its solid strength and efficiency when used in 2-to-1 C-system tests to greater strengths than any other pulleys in the same range of size and price. It has the required prusik minding capability for use in 3-to-1 Z-system.
A smooth running 1.25" nylon sheave runs on a stainless steel rivet axle, and the color-contrasting aluminum side plates rotate for easy rope insertion and removal. Easy to use, easy to carry - a great palm-sized partner on the mountain and nearly anywhere else!
This pulley is not suitable for use in a tyrolean traverse.
