Gearshop Competition Terms and Conditions

1. Promoter

The competition is run by Gearshop Limited (“Gearshop”, “we”, “us”) via www.gearshop.co.nz.

2. Acceptance of Terms

Entry into the competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

3. Eligibility

The competition is open to individuals who:

  • Are residents of New Zealand or Australia; and
  • Are aged 18 years or older, or are under 18 years of age and have obtained the consent of a parent or legal guardian; and
  • Are not employees of Gearshop, its related companies, agencies, suppliers, or their immediate family members.

Gearshop may rely on these Terms and Conditions even if an entrant’s ineligibility is discovered after a prize has been awarded.

4. Entry

  • Entry is available via the URL or QR code provided in promotional material (including magazines).
  • Only one entry per person is permitted unless otherwise stated.
  • Entries must be completed in full to be valid.
  • Gearshop accepts no responsibility for lost, late, incomplete, corrupted, or misdirected entries, including those affected by technical issues.

5. Competition Period

The closing date of the competition will be stated on the competition entry page. Entries received beyond this date will not be accepted.

6. Prize

  • Prize details will be outlined on the competition entry page.
  • Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash unless expressly stated.
  • If a prize or part of a prize becomes unavailable, Gearshop reserves the right to substitute it with an alternative of similar value (±20%).

7. Winner Selection

  • The winner will be selected at random from all valid entries.
  • The draw will take place shortly after the competition closing date.

8. Winner Notification

  • The winner will be notified via the contact details provided at entry and/or announced on gearshop.co.nz or Gearshop social channels.
  • If a winner does not respond within 7 days of notification, Gearshop reserves the right to redraw the prize.

9. Prize Fulfilment

  • Prizes will be dispatched or arranged within a reasonable timeframe after the winner has confirmed their details.
  • Gearshop accepts no responsibility for delays caused by third parties.

10. Publicity

By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to the use of their name, image, and/or entry content for reasonable promotional purposes without further compensation.

11. Use of Entry Content

By entering, entrants grant Gearshop a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use any submitted text, images, or content for marketing and promotional purposes, including email and social media.

12. Privacy

By entering the competition, entrants agree that their personal information will be collected and used by Gearshop for the purposes of administering the competition, contacting the winner, and delivering the prize. Entrants also consent to being added to the Gearshop customer database and receiving marketing communications from Gearshop. Entrants may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time. Personal information will be handled in accordance with Gearshop’s Privacy Policy and the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

13. Social Media Disclaimer

Where promoted on social media, this competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or their parent companies. By entering, entrants release those platforms from any responsibility in connection with the competition.

14. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gearshop is not responsible for any loss, injury, or damage arising from participation in the competition or acceptance or use of any prize.

15. Competition Integrity

Gearshop reserves the right to verify entries and entrants and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or breaches these Terms and Conditions.

16. Modification or Cancellation

If the competition cannot be run as planned due to circumstances beyond Gearshop’s control (including technical failure, fraud, or interference), Gearshop reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the competition.

17. Decisions Final

All decisions made by Gearshop in relation to the competition are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
